7/24/13: Official summary for the story has been made!
When an ancient evil resurfaces in Equestria, the mane six are truly tested on their most challenging adventure, yet. Princess Celestia and the six have no choice but to rely on the reformed enemy Discord! Will Twilight and her friends have what it takes to defeat this evil, before Equestria drowns in a world of shadow and darkness? And will Celestia and Discord be able to overcome a past between them, in order to work together and succeed towards the same goal?

Shadows Over Equestria is my upcoming My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic fanfiction. It's a storyline I've been devising for awhile now (dare I say perhaps a year or a bit over that? Even I don't remember exactly). Even then, there are still some things I need to develop or come to a final conclusion of. Yeah, if you want loving effort put into something, it sometimes takes awhile.
Or, you like that time to think more on or it takes until near last minute to be sure of a path to a story, or the elements and details of.
This picture is more or less the cover, and it in itself took quite a bit of time to finish. It's hard to say how long it took accurately, since I did fractions of it off and on throughout the process of a few days, but it did take time.
Before anyone asks - yes. This is a Dislestia fanfiction. Celestia and Discord have an important role to the story, but so do the mane six. And Luna (I REALLY wish I put her in this cover somehow, but if I did, it would have gotten too crowded). I would call this story an adventure/drama, if not also a romance (though I think it leans a bit more in drama). If you want a vague enough idea, think of it as a "Mane Six/Celestia/Discord journey story". Yes, they all stick together. XD Why only them will unveil as the story is posted/progresses. The first chapter is more or less roughly halfway completed so far, so it should hopefully be done soon enough; after a couple read throughs and revises.
The only problem is, it's been almost an age since I truly dedicated a substantial effort of writing and thinking to a story. So, yeah... you have that sensation of the brain feeling a little dusty or even perhaps out of practice. More of a returning to habit thing to me, than anything.
A lot of blood and sweat was put into this picture. It was a special idea/project, as of late. And the title/visual edits will hopefully veer any theft attempts. But, seriously, please don't try stealing this. It took such time and effort. I didn't think I'd be able to do it, but I did it, which makes it all the more rewarding.
Also, what do you think of the title? I've had quite a few juggling, but this is the first one I am pushing with. For some reason, I get this vibe that I may change it at some point (I don't want to, though. More or less wondering if it's truly the perfect or appropriate title).

I actually colored this picture, if anyone is wondering. Though, my boyfriend mattwilson83 was there as I did it, and helped me a lot in Photoshop (pointers and techniques, along with helping drop any annoyance I had with the picture), as I have hardly had much skill built in using the software, and he does. Sometimes, he demonstrated and went ahead with a few things. I have always wanted to feel more fully experienced and capable with softwares like Photoshop, and there was no better time to try and practice than now.
